So your in the city and you can’t decide on what to do for the afternoon… One of my first choices is to check out a museum. Some of my favorites are the MoMA and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, but there are also some great places to go in other cities.
Once you get there everyone always gets hungry, and the first thought is to grab something to eat outside of the museum. Scratch that – eat at the museum. Most places have an array of restaurants and they are typically very good due to their patron endorsements and donations for the arts.
One of my favorites that is quick, easy, and fun is Cafe 2 at the MoMA. With its cafeteria style and made to order dishes, the restaurant is a relaxed choice and nice stop as you clime upward to the exhibits at the MoMA. Even though the restaurant itself has a very laid back feel, the food and wine choices are anything but simple.
When I dined at Cafe 2 I enjoyed the rigatoni: braised pork sausage, tomato sauce, parmigiano, with paired wine. This dish was beyond delicious and recommended.
So check out the restaurants at your local art museum or when your in NYC, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
